NFSSE Celebrates National School Choice Week

The North Florida School of Special Education community is making sure that the world knows just how great we are! As part of National School Week, NFSSE students, teachers, and parents celebrated through dance, pep rally, and yellow scarves.

On Tuesday, Dr. Dakeyan Graham, Executive Director of Independent Education and Parental Choice at the Florida Department of Education joined our celebration. In addition to a tour of  our school, he shared a powerful message to our community. “As we continue to knock down walls and break barriers to accomplish many things that many didn’t think we’d accomplish, we remember that ‘Why?’ which comes from our hearts,” explains Graham. “This school is such a great example of the possibilities when we focus on that ‘Why?’ and what’s best for all students.”

National School Choice Week celebrates schools across the country who support options for families. School choice means giving parents access to the best K-12 education for their children. Here at NFSSE, we recognize that each student’s success isn’t determined by a metric or test score, but rather growth. That success is being recognized nationwide. Families are choosing North Florida School of Special Education for a variety of reasons, and we wanted to share some of those stories.  Click here to check out our School Choice Week video playlist.
