Getting outside and utilizing NFSSE’s woods and trails are great ways for our students to get both exercise and therapy. Our amazing Physical Therapist, Mary Kay Hall, gets her hands dirty creating challenging obstacle courses, strength training, balance games, and team building exercises utilizing the beautiful northern property.
The Secondary and Intermediate classes have been featured in our newsletters and social media using our climbing wall, navigating the natural hills while tethered together, and working as a cohesive group to overcome obstacles in their way. Most kids don’t get enough outside play these days, but at North Florida School of Special Education, we know and embrace the importance of the great outdoors.
