Why Walk When You Can Fly
If you could fly anywhere, where would you go? Wherever you choose, it would be a place that lifts your spirits. If you could fly, you would encounter a gift that you would have never dreamt of experiencing.
At North Florida School of Special Education, we fly each day. Our wings are limitless, and we use them to power through the year. From the inspiring song, Why Walk When You Can Fly, by Mary Chapin Carpenter, “In this world you have a soul for a compass, and a heart for a pair of wings.” Our wings are ample because they uplift, motivate, and inspire in every way possible. Inspiration can come from any direction.
Student arrival is the most wonderful part of NFSSE’s day! Being greeted with warm hugs and cheerful hellos fills every heart with purpose and adoration. As students slip on their magical wings disguised as backpacks, our team is inspired by their determination to thrive. Each morning the expectation for students to learn and grow is set for the day, and staff members are recharged with perseverance and gratefulness.
“Why Walk When You Can Fly” is a shared experience of love, friendship, empathy, and support that embodies our 2022-2023 school year theme. One cannot take flight without air and wings, just as our students, staff, and faculty need one another to fly. At North Florida School of Special Education, our wings are made stronger by our friends in the community who encourage the gift of soaring with their generosity and devotion to our mission.
Thank you for your ongoing support,
