“Charlie Chaplin said, ‘You’ll never find a rainbow if you’re looking down.’ So I want to encourage all of you to look up, look ahead, see beyond yourself.”
“Rainbows are a phenomenon that requires two simple elements- light and water. Typically we see rainbows after a storm. When the sky is dark and the earth feels tired there is a bright streak of hope that causes many of us to stop, take a breath, and admire its magnificence. Seniors, tonight you are our rainbows so we are going to stop, take a breath, and admire YOUR magnificence…
Just like a rainbow requires water and light – consider all the people who have poured their time, love, and energy into you. Think of all the teachers… therapists and helpers… most importantly, your parents and families…
Your light is rooted deep inside of you. Each of you has an intrinsic glow, unique and powerful that makes you exactly who you are…
Seniors, Let your true colors shine bright…
Charlie Chaplin said, ‘You’ll never find a rainbow if you’re looking down.’ So I want to encourage all of you to look up, look ahead, see beyond yourself. Be delighted in the brief beauty of the world. Hold on to hope and continue to be kind. Be present to celebrate this spectacular moment while anticipating joy for tomorrow.” ~ Excerpt from Commencement Address by Grace Williams, NFSSE Art Teacher
Throughout the 2018-2019 school year, 11 NFSSE seniors participated in intensive job readiness, rotating through the various Berry Good Farms vocational training programs and internships located at 25 local businesses. As a result, we are thrilled to report that seven graduated with employment! They are working in our community, shining brightly, drawing awe and wonder at the impact of their contributions to the workforce and culture of their employers. We are proud of all our graduates – whether they have jobs, are seeking jobs, or returning in our postgraduate programs. They have blessed us tremendously and we know they will continue to uplift others in their future endeavors. Congratulations Class of 2019!
